Co-founder of the German Forum for Electronic Invoicing (FeRD). The ZUGFeRD format was developed under his technical leadership. As co-author of European standard EN 16931, he contributes to national and international committees, including DIN, CEN and UN/CEFACT.

German Forum for Electronic Invoicing
Co-founder. FeRD is Germany’s national platform for electronic invoicing and the publisher of ZUGFeRD.
ZUGFeRD
Technical leadership. This hybrid invoice format combining PDF and XML was developed under this responsibility.
European standard EN 16931
Co-author. The standard defines the semantic data model underlying XRechnung, Factur-X and Peppol.
DIN standards committee
Member of the Electronic Business working committee within the DIN Information Technology and selected IT Applications Standards Committee.
CEN, UN/CEFACT and VeR
Contributing to European and international standardisation, and membership of the German Electronic Invoicing Association.
eurofactura e.V.
Co-founder. The association promoting e-invoicing in Europe emerged from the ZUGFeRD Community in 2026.
